Following the destruction of Super Storm Sandy in 2012, the Department received a 1991 AM General M939 5-Ton through a FEMA grant the following year. In 2022 under Chief Joseph F. Fraccalvieri the High Water Unit was officially formed, with Kevin Kelland as the first Captain and George Burke as the first Lieutenant. The unit is comprised of members of the six companies and operates at all alarms in which flooding conditions are present. The main purpose of the unit is for situations where flooding has limited the access by our other apparatus and for mass evacuations.
